Manufacturer FireChill makes use of Collabor8online to manage drawings.

With a business spread over two locations, management of current production drawings was always an issue for Yorkshire-based company FireChill. Email appeared to solve the problem, but difficulties with version control led to the company seeking a more comprehensive solution.

FireChill manufactures a wide range of products and consequently carries a lot of drawings. The Collabor8 folder system allows FireChill to conveniently group product lines together which makes them very easy to find and maintain. Collabor8 is a very low cost alternative to the old-fashioned way of posting drawings with the added advantages of increased security and immediate access from either office. We managed to get the system up and running very quickly so can now easily ensure that drawings are current and the team doesn’t have to worry about information left lying around at the bottom of people’s inboxes.

FireChill make use of Collabor8’s premium version which includes the added advantages of shared calendars and To-Do Lists. Andrew Giddings again comments

We find the To-Do List feature useful and use that a lot, the automatic versioning is another bonus; this is a feature that simply wasn’t available to us when we were exchanging drawings by e-mail. All I can say is we are really pleased with the system, it works really well.

Collabor8’s flexible folder system lets you define the structure of your own system. Often mimicking the file structures that are familiar to all your staff from your own fileservers or PCs. Google style searches allow you to retrieve information quickly and easily and access is controlled by username and password, with this in turn dictating the amount of content any user is able to view.
